After a thrilling three-wicket win in the first Test in Manchester, the hosts have taken a 1-0 lead. Pakistan was in the driver's seat for most of the game and on the final day, England was trailing by 227 runs with Chris Vokes (* 84 *) and Jose Butler (75) scoring a century to win the game.
Pakistan, who managed to dismiss half of the English team for 117 runs, will look to improve their performance and level the ICC World Test Championship series in Southampton. Opening batsman Shan Masood’s career-best 156 and a stellar performance from the visiting bowlers in the first innings played a vital role.

Rain is expected to play spoilsport in the second Test of the series with the forecast predicting a minimum amount of shower on all scheduled five days of the Test.
The game is expected to observe a blocked period with a ‘T-storm’ around the corner on Thursday and Friday. The third day of the test is the only one where the maximum-minimum rainfall is forecasted, 3%. On the last day of the game, the maximum rainfall is expected with 99%.
Like most pitches in England, the strip in Southampton is often preferred by seam bowlers and spinners.
